Some enemies will grant you limited-use weapons that are far more outlandish. There are also weapons you can pull straight out of the body of demons with finisher attacks.

At least two of the three upgrade levels for each weapon add some kind of interesting effect like slowing down time for your sniper or adding an electric element to your SMG. Your arsenal of six weapons covers all of your bases: short range, long range, explosive, etc. Waves of enemies mob you in cramped arenas with respawning health and ammo pickups, encouraging you to stay mobile to stay alive. It drops both the semi open world and co-op features of the previous game in favor of a much more linear experience. It combines fast-paced hip fire gunplay with first-person platforming, similar to Doom 2016 and Doom Eternal. Shadow Warrior 3’s gameplay also does a bit of borrowing. It’s not as blatantly racist as the 1997 original, but it’s not a story or setting that takes into account any knowledge of the several cultures it’s borrowing from outside of buzzwords like “chi” and “yokai.” Personally, I found it difficult to overlook the mish-mash of Eastern Asian stereotypes on display. The shooting, movement, and killing are every bit as good as recent Doom. But those who’re more amused by a main character whose name is a dick joke might beg to differ. Shadow Warrior 3 has been reviewed by 107 critics and currently has a Fair. None of the writing or jokes landed for me, and Lo Wang came off as more annoying than funny. As a sibling of the original Duke Nukem, the new Shadow Warrior series attempts to shake off antiquated gaming tropes while keeping its sense of irreverent humor. The only thing i can see bringing this games score down so much is the length for the price which is kinda expensive but a 72 average? come on now thats just harsh.Shadow Warrior 3 is the latest FPS from Flying Wild Hog, continuing its series that reboots the 1997 3D Realms title of the same name.
I highly recommend people play this game! it's a great short time which im sure some of you would appreciate.
It doesnt overstay its welcome like Shadow Warrior 2 started to feel near the end with how long levels would go for and how often you'd revisit them. the games pacing is great since your constantly moving forward and visiting new levels. the story isnt very good but its fun all the way thru with dumb dialogue to keep you going and corny cutscenes. I think this game is alot more fun to play than Shadow Warrior 2 which i loved but found to be very much a keepaway game while you unloaded bullets compared to this game which requires much more strategy and using your abilities at the right time to efficiently mow down enemies (ice yokai bomb is a life saver). The more cartoony color palette did weird me out in the beginning but it grew on me and i think it fits considering the weird ass yokai you kill thru out the game.
